How to download a YouTube video

  2. Paste the link above and press Download.
  3. Pick 1080p, 720p, 480p or MP3.

Why some qualities take longer

Above 360p, YouTube serves picture and sound as separate files. We merge them into a single MP4 on our server, so 720p and 1080p downloads take from a few seconds to a few minutes depending on length.

Playlists and channels

If you paste a link to a video inside a playlist, only that video is downloaded. Channel links are not supported; use the link of the video itself.

Most content on YouTube is protected by copyright. Only download your own videos or content whose owner allows it, such as Creative Commons licensed videos.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download in 1080p?
Yes, if the video was uploaded in 1080p. Higher resolutions (1440p, 4K) are not offered at the moment because of server load.
Can I download long videos?
Up to a time limit, yes. Very long videos and live streams are rejected due to server capacity.
Do age-restricted or members-only videos work?
No. Videos that require a login are not supported.
What format is the video?
MP4, which plays on phones, computers and smart TVs without extra software.
